Munich, February 28, 2025 – ASC successfully completed the acquisition of the Lightweight Solutions division from FORVIA. The transaction includes production locations in Saint-Meloir-des-Ondes and Theillay, as well as a high-tech R&D center in Saint-Malo, France. ASC will continue to operate the sites and supply existing and new customers under the name Compositec, starting March 1, 2025. Compositec will continue to serve the sports & luxury car, e-mobility, automotive and trucks & off-road vehicle industry with innovative composite solutions out of its facilities in France.
ASC currently operates a portfolio of companies headquartered in Europe, with activities that span around the globe, and encompass a multitude of sectors and industries, such as general industrials, automotive, automation, building materials, lighting solutions, business process outsourcing and the chemicals.
FORVIA took the decision to divest its Lightweight Solutions division as it no longer aligns with the company’s core business strategy. After a thorough selection process,, ASC was selected as the best new home of the business, among others due to its strong and reliable track record in managing complex carveouts and sustainably improving and growing companies.
„We are thrilled about becoming an independent company and confident that this transition will be beneficial for all our business partners”, commented Paul Quessart, Managing Director of Compositec. “As a standalone company, Compositec will be focusing 100% on the best composite-based solutions for its customers. The entire Compositec management team is committed to collaborating with ASC and driving a customer centric, agile, autonomous and forward-looking enterprise. Paul Quessart added: “We will also explore expanding composite solutions to different sectors and thereby grow and diversify our business mix.“
Johannes Pichler, Managing Partner of ASC, commented: “We are excited that FORVIA has chosen ASC as the most reliable and trusted partner for taking over its Lightweight Solutions business unit. Compositec is a leading player in its fields and is well known by its customers around the globe for its high-quality products and innovative development capabilities. With a history of more than 50 years, Compositec has a strong heritage in composite manufacturing, mastering various thermoset and thermoplastic production processes, which is the perfect prerequisite for diversifying the product range and expanding its market reach.”
